A two-manual extension organ built in our Huddersfield workshop for a church in Leeds has returned to its home town.
The instrument was installed in the newly consecrated All Saints' Church, York Road, Leeds in 1982, following the demolition of the Victorian building on the site.
As All Saints' has now closed, we were asked if we could find a new home for the organ, which contains three ranks: Dulciana, gemshorn and flute.
It was offered to Fr Ian Smith of the Parish of the Holy Redeemer, a community of Roman Catholic churches in Huddersfield.
He saw it as an ideal replacement for an electronic instrument in Our Lady Of Lourdes, Sheepridge, where it has been enthusiastically received.
